Candle Care + FAQ's
Create a Clean, Even Burn
To get the most out of your RedBank Candle, let it burn long enough the first time to form a full melt pool—this means the melted wax reaches close to the edge of the jar. This step sets a “burn memory,” which helps your candle burn evenly and prevents tunneling down the middle. We recommend burning for up to 4 hours the first time.
Before each burn, trim the wick to about ¼". This small step helps minimize smoke and wick mushrooming, giving you a cleaner, longer-lasting burn every time you light it.
Give Your Jar a Second Life
When your candle has reached the end of its burn, it’s easy to clean out and repurpose the jar—no need to toss it!
How to Clean:
On your final burn, while the wax is still melted, carefully pour the remaining wax onto a paper towel or into the trash (something that won’t melt). While the jar is warm, wipe it clean with a paper towel.
Remove the Wick Tab:
Use a spoon or butter knife to gently lift out the metal wick tab from the bottom of the jar. Peel away any leftover adhesive if needed.
Wash and Dry:
Wash your jar with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge. Dry thoroughly—and just like that, it’s ready for a new purpose.
Ideas for Reuse:
• Mini plant pot or succulent holder
• Tealight or votive holder
• Desk cup for pens or brushes
• Storage for matches, buttons, or other small treasures
Frosting + Wet Spots
You may notice a little frosting or some “wet spots” on your candle from time to time. These are totally normal and a natural part of using 100% soy wax. Changes in temperature can cause the wax to pull away from the glass or form a frosted appearance—but it’s purely cosmetic. It won’t affect the scent or the way your candle burns. In most cases, the warmth of the flame will smooth things out as it burns.
